Olivier Stak aka Kosta-Théfaine discovered graffiti during a trip to London in 1987. He painted his first graff in 1988 in Paris with Colorz. The founder of World Signs, a quarterly review devoted To The art of graffiti, Olivier Stak, Is undeniably rooted in urban expression (tag and graffiti). In 1995 he converted his signature into a logo and began to work with a variety of materials ranging from neon lights to stickers. His work intends to be a confrontation of three worlds: fashion, advertising and art. Olivier Stak demonstrates the permeability of these milieus while attacking visual codes. His work is marked by recurring themes. He provides a social interpretation of urban elements, Of esthetic codes, and of fashion tendencies (for instance, his videos showing the most important brands of sportswear or Dutch nightclubs).
